What it is
Sales Enablement is a marketing skill for creating the collateral that B2B sales teams use to close deals. It covers sales decks, one-pagers, objection handling documents, battle cards, demo scripts, ROI calculators, case study briefs, proposal templates, sales playbooks, and buyer persona cards. The core principle is that sales uses what sales trusts -- reps must be involved in creation, and if they rewrite your deck before sending it, you wrote the wrong deck. The skill distinguishes between live deal objections and reusable objection docs. For a live deal where a rep has a call in an hour, it delivers one response the rep can say as written, names the likely concern behind the objection, and uses only proof the rep can stand behind. It explicitly tells the rep when not to fight if the objection reveals a real fit gap. For reusable battle cards, the skill requires naming the specific competitor and includes a "where they are strong" section so reps are not blindsided, plus a "when to walk away" section for deal profiles where the competitor is the better fit. A win-loss analysis workflow turns CRM outcomes, call transcripts, and buyer interviews into evidence-backed answers. The skill requires counts with sample sizes ("6 of 9 losses to Acme cite onboarding time" rather than vague theme labels) and warns against taking one-word CRM reasons at face value without transcript or interview confirmation.
